For over 50 years, I’ve protected what makes Marana special: your water, your wallet, and your quality of life. I’m Herb Kai, and I’m asking for your vote to continue serving you on the Marana Town Council.
My family didn’t just move here. We helped build this town over 120 years ago. This isn’t a job for me. It’s my home, my legacy, and my heart.
Your vote counts! The primary election is Tuesday, July 21st.
Register to vote using the link below and make your voice heard. Together, let’s keep Marana safe, beautiful, and thriving for generations to come.
Thank you for your support.

Herb Kai’s Story
I’m not just from Marana. My family helped create it.
My grandparents arrived in Southern Arizona in 1905. My father moved to Marana in 1935 and helped found this town. I was born here, went to school here, raised my family here, and I’ve spent 50+ years fighting to keep it the special place we all greatly care for.
But what keeps me going isn’t nostalgia. It’s my wife Diana, my kids Madison and Michael, and my grandkids Teddy and Margo. They remind me every day that the decisions we make now shape the Marana they’ll inherit.
I’ve served as your Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Councilman because I believe in this community. And I’m ready to keep working for you.
Our Strategic Plan
Marana’s future depends on smart decisions today. As your councilman, I focus on what matters most: protecting your water, keeping property tax at zero, bringing quality jobs here, maintaining the fastest police response time in Arizona, and supporting our schools without raising taxes.
As a farmer, business owner, and lifelong Marana resident, I know what it takes to make this town thrive. I’ve worked for these priorities my entire life, both as a citizen and as your leader. And I’ll keep fighting for what’s best for our community.
Herb Kai - Marana Councilman
I have proudly served on the Marana Town Council, as Mayor, Vice Mayor, and currently, Councilman.
